Character classes
Theoretically, they are six, but functionally they are just three:
- A wizard can cast five spells.
- A cleric can heal other characters.
- Ranger, warrior, thief, and minstrel are functionally identical, without any skill. Their only difference is the sprite.
Character attributes, race, gender
- Life points: the current amount affects the success rate of any action. Life points can be lost in combat or as a result of some actions. If they get to zero, the character dies.
- Gender: together with the class, it determines the sprite.
- Race: unused.
- Constitution: unused.
- Strength: during character creation, a value of 15 of higher is necessary for a Ranger. Afterwards, it remains unused.
- Knowledge: during character creation, a value of 15 of higher is necessary for a Wizard. Afterwards, it remains unused.
- Wisdom: during character creation, a value of 15 of higher is necessary for a Priest. Afterwards, it remains unused.
- Dexterity: during character creation, a value of 15 of higher is necessary for a Thief. Afterwards, it remains unused.
- Appearance: during character creation, a value of 15 of higher is necessary for a Minstrel. Afterwards, it remains unused.

Parties
Syrella's party
Suggested party
- 1 wizard and 3 sages
Mandragore is actually the same if played with a single character or four. Let the three sages sacrifice themselves for the wizard at the beginning of the game.
The main requirement to complete the game is to earn 3000 silver coins and purchase a boat. If you control a single character, you have to feed and heal up just one character instead of four!
As soon as the game starts:
- Each sage should spend his/her 50 silver coins on medicines, that will be given to the wizard and eaten by him/her;
- Each sage should eat his/her 20 portions of food, then...
- Each sage should heal the wizard until they use up all their life points.
